The Stretch Band: Stop and Go

Happy September!

The sprinkle of rain is stopping and going, just like the Elephants today!  These three years old students were moving and going with the music.  We were delighted to hold the stretch band together and jump or pull.  And when the music stopped, our bodies stopped and they were still in high spirits while waiting for the music.  It is wonderful to see their faces so vibrant about stopping and going!

Many teachers have asked me where I got the stretch band or how I made it.  Years ago, I originally bought several yards of the stretchy material for a costume at a fabric store.  After finding the material sitting in my closet, I decided to cut it in half and tie the ends together to make a stretch band.  It is going on year three and the material is still holding strong and works wonderfully for all the student’s needs for jumping, pulling, and holding.
