TEDx: When Meds Fail: A Case for Music Therapy

After several tough classes and lessons today, I needed an energy boost.  I watched a TEDx talk “When Meds Fail: A Case for Music Therapy” by Tim Ringgold, who talks about music as medicine, the positive effects of music, and how music brings people together.  Music creates a safe environment for patients, even without the need of getting to know each other.  People meet within the music and share a bond through the exchange of rhythm, harmonies, and melodies. As rhythmic beings, people are surrounded by music and we all have a personal relationship with music.

I am reminded of the power of music and am passionate to be a music therapist.
