Chestnut Program: “Giving Thanks All Year Long”

“I sang good!”
“I sang loudly!”
“I was on stage!” – Chestnut Oak students.

Today the All-Stars, Monkeys, Giraffes, and Zebras performed at the Chestnut Oak Winter Program, “Giving Thanks All Year Long.”  Each class did a fantastic job singing their song for such a large audience of over 100 persons.  There were several students who blossomed on stage, especially when they saw their parents.  Though some students have difficulty singing and carrying a conversation, they have discovered their voice through singing in the past several months, whether through the lyrics or the song’s melody.  Today, they were all shining stars in their own way.

Tears were in our eyes as we watched and listened to them perform.  They were so proud of themselves and allowed the music guide their words.

I am so proud of them!  Congratulations!
