“Where the Wild Things Are” Skit

The Intra-Curricular Activities Teachers (ICAT) team has adapted the story, “Where the Wild Things Are,” as a Halloween show.  As a team, we each worked on separate parts to have a thrilling show with a script, dance choreography, costumes, and stage effects.  Our list of creations include vines on a line pulley system, sail for a sailboat, the wild thing dance choreographed to “Wild Thing” by The Troggs, and wild thing costumes creatively pieced by students.

There will be two performances for the school, one performed by the Mustangs, the other performed by the Explorers.  After a great tech rehearsal today and intent practicing all month, both classes are so pumped about our showtime on Tuesday the 30th.

I feel fortunate to work with such a creative team to put together such productions for the benefit of our students.  The students develop self-confidence, self-esteem, learn to organize ideas, reinforce academic concepts they are learning in the classroom, and to work together to create a magical show.
