Rodeo Day: Barrel Racing!

Creative Movement at the Rodeo.  The Kangaroos picked a cowboy hat and went Barrel Racing.  I set up four chairs in the middle of the room as the barrels.  Splitting the class into two teams, students were instructed to gallop around the first chair, then the second chair, and back to the start line.  With some fast fiddlers music, the cowboys and horses were off!  Excited, all the students went galloping at once following each other and teachers.  Many of the students ended up weaving a figure 8 between the chairs and some made their own paths between chairs.  Some were tired and rested between barrels while others waited for friends and told them to follow.  Yee haw!
When the All-Stars went Barrel Racing, they went one at a time and tagged the next friend to go.  They even cheered on their friends.  Great teamwork!
