I am excited to recap my first fall semester of music at The Parish School. Moving from California via New York to Texas, it has been a transition period for me to learn about the school, students, and Houston. Everyone has been welcoming and kind in helping me settle into my music therapist and music teacher role. Winter is here, so let’s warm up by remembering fall events.
August: Said good-bye to Julie (former music therapist); welcomed Hilary; Magic Shoes; Train Song.
September: Creative Movement classes started; instrument explorations; relaxation.
October: Heros performed at Annual Fall Luncheon (my first show!); Martial Arts classes started; Music Doing Good “Break-Thru” Benefit Concert; Labs and Mustangs performed Halloween House “The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything”; Heros “Thriller” performance; Halloween dress-up.
November: The Parish Choir performed at Bookfair Family Night, “Reading is Out of This World”(my first choir show!); Special Friends Day with grandparents and preschoolers; Blog started
It truly has been a BLAST this fall semester with all our music activities, performances, and building relationships with each other. It’s hard to believe that so much has happened in the last five months! I am looking forward to the new year with the elementary musical, new music activities, and the students’ overall growth.
